George Russell won the Canadian Grand Prix Sprint, holding off McLaren’s Lando Norris by 1.272s to secure his second sprint victory of the season. The Mercedes driver led the 23-lap race from the front and crossed the line in 28:50.951.
The main storyline was an intra-team duel at Mercedes. Kimi Antonelli twice ran onto the grass while attempting to pass Russell for the lead, and later lost second place to Norris before settling for third.
McLaren banked a double top four with Oscar Piastri in fourth at +9.797s. Ferrari followed with Charles Leclerc fifth (+9.929s) and Lewis Hamilton sixth (+10.545s), while Max Verstappen took seventh for Red Bull Racing (+15.935s).
Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad completed the points in eighth at +29.710s. Franco Colapinto (Alpine) and Carlos Sainz (Williams) rounded out the top 10 at +31.621s and +36.793s respectively.
