Aston Martin Unveils Colour-Shifting Monaco Livery

Aston Martin has ditched its trademark green for one weekend only, revealing a striking iridescent, colour-shifting livery for the Monaco Grand Prix in partnership with sponsor Maaden.

Aston Martin will be one of the most distinctive sights on the streets of Monte Carlo this weekend after unveiling a special colour-shifting livery for the Monaco Grand Prix, temporarily setting aside its traditional British racing green.

In place of the familiar dark green, the team will run an iridescent design that visibly changes colour as the car threads its way around Monaco's tight street circuit. The finish is created using a special coating material being deployed by the team for the first time, producing a shimmering effect that shifts under the principality's light.

The one-off scheme has been developed in partnership with principal sponsor Maaden, under a campaign titled "From Rock to Racetrack." The concept is designed to symbolise the transformation of raw materials and metals – extracted by Maaden – into the high-performance components used in modern technology and Formula 1 machinery.

The makeover extends well beyond the bodywork. The same iridescent treatment appears on the race suits of drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, as well as on the helmets and overalls of the team's mechanics, ensuring the entire Aston Martin operation is dressed to match for the weekend.

Jefferson Slack, Aston Martin's managing director of commercial operations, framed the livery as a celebration of the partnership behind it. "This weekend, we are proud to celebrate our principal partner Maaden through this unique livery takeover at the Monaco Grand Prix," he said.

Slack added that the campaign was intended to spotlight the work that goes on long before raw materials reach the grid, highlighting "the important role Maaden plays in shaping and transforming materials into components we all use – including in the world of Formula 1."

Monaco has long been the venue where teams reach for something special, whether through one-off liveries, retro tributes or eye-catching commercial activations. Its glamour, history and global audience make it the natural stage for this kind of statement, and Aston Martin's iridescent reinvention is firmly in that tradition.

For Alonso and Stroll, the focus once the cars roll out will of course be on lap time rather than paintwork. But for one weekend at least, Aston Martin will turn heads as much for its appearance as its pace – a flash of colour against the famous backdrop of the Mediterranean harbour.
